To understand why there were 2 types of dependance between the resources of England's colonies and England itself we have to analyze the context.

First of all, England had a great number of colonies all over the world. Back then the best source of transport was ships made of wood. So, they required two things to make them and to use them. The first was timber and the second mand who could drive them. There were hostile times in which the countries attacked their rivals' ships on the open sea. Thus, ships didn't last long.

Second, the trading system was based on the exchange of gold and goods. The colonies paid in gold and silver they got from England, and it was important because in that time gold and silver were the currency of wealth. So, the more silver and gold a country had, the powerful it was.

The war was fought in phases, The first phase was between the year 1927 to 1937, The KMT-CPC Alliance broke down during the Northern Expeditionnand this leads to the Nationalists dominating most of China.

The Second phase was in the year 1937 to 1945, The Second United Front fought the Japanese from taking control of China with eventual assist from the Allies of World War II. The civil war commenced with the defeat of the Japanese, and the CPC were able to dominate in the final phase of the war from 1945–1949.

Some of the leaders were Feng Yuxiang, Yan Xishan and Wang Jingwei and they are responsible for launching the war.
