It was well-known at that time, the many differences these two African American intellectuals and activists had about the ideas of each other. But W.E.B. Dubois always was a severe critic of the ways of Booker T. Washington. Indeed, Dubois published an essay in 1903 called "Of Mr. Booker  T. Washington and Others," in which Dubois expressly critiqued Booker's policy of racial accommodation and gradualism. If you are interested in this document, the essay was part of his collection called "The Souls of Black Folk."
