Which geographic feature contributed most to the settlement of colonies along the atlantic coast?
Westkost [7]
The Appalachian Mountains most contributed to the settle of the colonies along the Atlantic coast. As the settlers were just attempting to establish themselves in the harsh terrain of unsettled environments, they avoided the additional difficulties of spreading out further and over a mountain range. The coastal areas would have been able to provide initial raw materials to start colonization without risking more by attempting to overtake the mountain range.

How was the affordable care act of 2010 (aka obamacare) an example of federalism at work?
sergeinik [125]
Please write in your own words:

this what I have found.
Powerful interests (conservatives in some states who oppose the Affordable Care Act) are able to prevent a less-powerful group (low-income people who make up a larger portion of the population) from being able to take advantage of either Medicaid or subsidized health insurance. So, in this case, rather than protecting the interests of the people, federalism enables some people to deny access to health care for others.

Hope this helps.

Which ideology did metternich condemn
Vaselesa [24]
Metternich condemned both nationalism and liberalism as ideologies that threatened the status quo.

Prince Klemens von Metternich of Austria was the leading figure in the conservative domination of the period from 1815 to 1848.  The Austrian Empire was made up of many different people groups, so nationalism was a threat to its existence.  If Hungarians and Czechs and other groups within that empire each wanted to form their own independent nation, that would have meant the end to the Austrian Empire.  And liberalism was the ideology of change that Metternich and others had seen threatening all of Europe through the ideas of the French Revolution.  19th century conservatives wanted to put down all such revolutionary change movements and keep the old order in place, with traditional, aristocratic institutions and values.
