Answer:

Male cones produce microspores.

Pollen grain contains cells that develop into sperm.

Explanation:

Gymnosperms are seed-bearing vascular plants. They produce cones and seeds to carry their reproductive structure. They produce both types of cones (male and female) for fertilization by making gametes. Male cones produce microspores to make pollen grains. Female cones give rise megaspores which produce ovules. Pollen grains spilt up to make sperm. One of these sperms fuse with egg cells for the fertilization.

Answer:

Meiosis inside the male cones produces microspores. Microspores develop into pollen: the male gametophyte. One of the cells of the gametophyte develops into a sperm: the remainder of the gametophyte helps deliver the sperm.

The reactivity of an atom arises from
saw5 [17]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

For metals, the further away the valence electrons are from the nucleus, the higher the reactivity of the elements. Unlike halogens that are more reactive if the valence orbital shells are closer to the nucleus. This is due to ionization energies – which is the minimum energy required to discharge an electron from its orbit.

For metals this should be lower because they need to lose electrons to attain a stable electron configuration. For halogens it should be high because they don't need to lose electrons, but rather gain, in order to attain stable electron configuration.

Electrons in their orbital shells need to occur in pairs (with opposite quantum states) to be in stable configuration and as long as an atom has orbitals with single electrons, the atoms will be reactive as opposed to when its orbitals are ‘full’.

diamong [38]

What do the Gram stain, acid-fast stain, and endospore stain have in common?

A. used on a wet mount of the specimen

B. use heat to force the dye into cell structures

C. outcome based on cell wall differences

D. use a negative stain technique

E. are simple stains

Answer: Option C

Explanation:

The staining can be defined as a procedure which is carried out in order to make the study easy. As many of the bacterial species appear similar and are transparent so staining is done in order to see what bacterial species incorporates what color in them to make the study more easy.

Staining also depends on the type of chemicals present in the cell wall of the organism( cell wall composition). Different organisms have different staining techniques and stains by which they show color.

This ability tells alot about their characters. Like the fast stain bacteria are very hard to stain. They are mycobacterium on which normal stain do leaves any effect because of the cell wall composition. This property states that they are resistant to many of the chemicals . Likewise  gram staining and endospore staining is also dependent on the type of chemical that is found in their cell wall.
