For this we just need to do a simple subtraction of 7-1.34

I find the easiest way to do this is to subtract 0.34 from 1 to give 0.66.

You can then add this to 7 - 1 - 1 = 5

So the remaining rope is 5.66

find the x- and y-intercept of the line. 5x – 4y = 40 a. x-intercept is –4; y-intercept is 5. b. x-intercept is –10; y-intercept
pashok25 [27]
5x - 4y = 40

x intercept is when y = 0

5x - 4*0 = 40

5x = 40

x = 40/5

x = 8             x intercept = 8

y intercept is when x = 0

5*0  - 4y = 40

-4y = 40

y = 40/-4

y = -10

y intercept = -10

x intercept = 8, <span>y intercept = -10</span>

The cost to mail a package is $7 for the first 2 pounds and 30 cents for each additional ounce. Which of the following functions
TiliK225 [7]
The cost to mail a 2-lb package is $7.
The cost to mail a 2-lb, 1 oz package is $7+$0.30(1).
That to mail a 2-lb, 2 oz package is $7+$0.30(2) = $7.60.

Following this pattern, the general formula is f(x) = $7 + $0.30x, where x represents the number of ounces OVER 2 lb.
