The poem “The Poison Tree” enumerates certain feelings of the speaker which is most obvious among the humans. In the introductory lines, the poet tells that how his ‘wrath’ against his friend ended after confessing it to him. Though the poet tells more about the feeling of hatred which he possessed for his enemy, the emphasis of the poem lies much on the feeling of love.
