Answer:

Atomic number = 16, Atomic mass = 34, Net charge= +3

Explanation:

i) Atomic number = Proton number = 16

ii) Atomic mass = Proton number + Neutron number

                         = 16 + 18 = 34

iii) Net charge= Proton number = Electron number (when element is in ground state or unreacted state)

But, proton number (16) is not the same as electron number (13), this means the element has lost 3 electrons

Thereore, the net charge is = 16-13

                                              = +3

Which of these phrases accurately describe disproportionation? Check all that apply.
Olin [163]

Answer:

A single compound is simultaneously oxidized and reduced.

Explanation:

In chemistry, disproportionation is a simultaneous oxidation and reduction of a single chemical specie.

What this means is that; in a disproportionation reaction, only one compound is both oxidized and reduced. This implies that two products are formed during disproportionation. One is the oxidized product while the other is the reduced product.

Consider the disproportionation of CuCl shown below;

2CuCl -----> CuCl2 + Cu

Here, CuCl2 is the oxidized product while Cu is the reduced product.

What would happen to the air pressure on Earth's surface if the density of Earth's atmosphere were to suddenly double?A. The air
Sladkaya [172]

Answer:

B. The air pressure would increase 2X

Explanation:

Pressure = density × acceleration due to gravity × height

p = ρ × g × h

Pressure is force per unit area

p = F/a

Density is mass per unit volume

Pressure is directly proportional to density hence, any change in the density of a body directly affects the change in pressure of the body and vice versa.
