John Steinbeck was an American novelist born in California. He was born in a family of medium means and grew up with his 3 sisters. Some of his works were humorous while others depicted a more serious tone. Overall, his works can be best described as realistic and imaginative which also combined the sympathetic humor and keen social perception.
