Its 48. you see how much they multiplied the denominator (5) by, so you do 18 divided by 5 (which is 16). you then do the same to the numerator but instead multiply it by 16 so thats 48.

Describe in words the region of R3 reperesented by the equations or inequalities x2+y2+z2≤3
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

The region represented by the equation is a full sphere of radius √3 centered in the origin of coordinates.

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>In a plane xy, the equation that represents a circle with center in the origin, of radius r is</em>

x^2+y^2=r^2

<em>in R³, or a space xyz, we can represent a sphere with its center in the origin, and of radius r, with the equation</em>

x^2+y^2+z^2=r^2

So, in this problem we have that

3=r^2

which means that the sphere has a radius of √3.

<u>Finally, our equation is an inequality</u>, and the sphere is equal to, and less than, the calculated radius.

Therefore, the sphere is "full" from the surface to its center.

In the year 1985, a house was valued at $120,000. By the year 2005, the value had appreciated exponentially to $145,000. What wa
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

The annual growth rate between 1985 and 2005 is 0.95%

The value of the house in the year 2010 is $152,018

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the annual growth rate = r

Value of the house in year 1985 = $120,000

Value of the house in year 2005 = $145,000

Time (t) = 2005 - 1985

            = 20 years

A = P (1 + r)^t

145000 = 120000 (1 + r) ^20

(1 +r)^20 = 145000 / 120000

(1 +r)^20= 1.2083

(1 +r)^20= (1.2083)^1/20

(1 +r)^20= 1.0095

r = 1.0095 - 1

r = 0.0095

r% = 0.0095 x 100

    = 0.95%

Value of the house in year 2010

=145000(1 + r)^5

=145000 (1 + 0.0095)^5

= 145000 x 1.0484

=$152,018

Two pools are leaking, after 15 minutes pool A has leaked 2/3 gallon, after 20 minutes pool B has leaked 2/3 gallon. Which pool
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

Pool A.

Step-by-step explanation:

This can be solved through ratios. You would write it as \frac{gallons}{minutes} So, \frac{2/3}{15} for the first one, and \frac{2/3}{20} for the second. You might want to use a calculator for that part, but you could also change the gallons to cups, which gives you a much better number of 10.515. So, \frac{10.515}{15} = 0.701, and \frac{10.515}{20} = 0.52575 So, pool A is at a faster rate. If you want it in gallons per minute, it's by 0.01 (with the 1 repeating) gallons per minute. By cups, it's 0.17525 cups per minute.

(The reason I did not do this by cross multiplying and dividing ratios is because it gives you the exact same answer if you are finding it per one, as I am here with per one minute. You can do it this way, it just wastes a bit of time.)
