Culebra Cut = 1 'time'
rest of the canal = 9 'times'

Total length of the canal = 10 'times'

            10 'times' = 50 miles

             each 'time' = 5 miles.

Culebra Cut = 1 'time' = 5 miles

rest of the canal = 9 'times' = 45 miles

$470 is raised by 30%. What is the value after the increase?
alekssr [168]

Answer: $611

Work Shown:

30% of 470 = 0.30*470 = 141

The value goes up by $141, so the answer would be 470+141 = $611

A slight shortcut would be to say

1.30*470 = 611

This works because 1.30 = 1 + 0.30 = 100% + 30%

Whad does a scalene triangle look like?
Elanso [62]

Answer:

A scalene triangle is a triangle in which all three sides have different lengths. Also the angles of a scalene triangle have different measures. Some right triangles can be a scalene triangle when the other two angles or the legs are not congruent.

Answer:

1. Consistent independent.

2. Coincident

3. Inconsistent.

Step-by-step explanation:

4x + y = 8

x + 3y = 8 Multiply this equation by -4:

-4x - 12y = -32

Adding this to the first equation:

-11y = -24 giving y = -24/-11 = 2.18

Substituting in the first second equation:

x + 3(2.18) = 8 giving x = 1.46.

So this system of equations has roots (1.46, 2.18) and is consistent independent.

2.

-4x + 6y = -2

2x - 3y = 1 Multiply this by -2:

-4x + 6y = -2

So these 2 equations are the same and will give the same graph on the coordinate plane, and so has:

Infinite solutions and is coincident.

3.

5x - 2y = 4

5x - 2y = 6

We can see immediately that this system of equations has NO Solutions.

If we subtract the 2 equations we get:

0 = -2 which is of course, absurd.

Classification Inconsistent.

Find the following measures of central tendency for the given set of data.
Romashka [77]
Add them all up which gets you 48 then divide it by 10 cause of each number then you get your mean

Mean=4.8

Find the middle number and since it’s two add them 4+3=7 and then divide by 2 which gives you your median

Median=3.5

The two numbers repeated which gives you your mode
