3 0

Number should be 2 instead of x .

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Here we have , Jonas has the following data: 2, 5, x, 2, 4, 3. if the average is 3, We need to find  what number should be instead x . Let's find out:

We know that

Average = \frac{(x_1+x_2+x_3+...........+x_n)}{n}

Where x_1, x_2,x_3,.....,x_n is terms and n is the number of terms . Let's find average for 2, 5, x, 2, 4, 3 which is 3 :

⇒ Average = \frac{(x_1+x_2+x_3+...........+x_n)}{n}

⇒ 3 = \frac{(2+5+x+2+4+3)}{6}

⇒ 3(6) = \frac{(16+x)}{6}(6)

⇒ 18= 16+x

⇒ x=2

Therefore , Number should be 2 instead of x .

In your sock drawer you have 4 blue, 5 gray, and 3 black socks. half asleep one morning you grab 2 socks at random and put them
timofeeve [1]

you will have 1/4 or 25% probability to pick a black sock because

4 blue socks + 5 gray socks + 3 black socks = 12 socks. but you need to pick one of the 3 black socks so 3 out of 12 or 3/12. simplify to 1/4

The mean of eight numbers is 41.  The mean of two of the numbers is 29. What is the mean of the other six numbers
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

45

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean is calculated as

mean = \frac{sum}{count}

Given the mean of 8 numbers is 41 , then

\frac{sum}{8} = 41 ( multiply both sides by 8 )

sum of 8 numbers = 328

Given the mean of 2 numbers is 29 , then

\frac{sum}{2} = 29 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

sum of 2 numbers = 58

The sum of the remaining 6 numbers = 328 - 58 = 270 , so

mean = \frac{270}{6} = 45

The mean of the other 6 numbers = 45
