Feudal System:

The Feudal system was characterized by the dominion of local lords (the feudal lords). These lords had military and economic power over their territories, and worked closely with the monarchs.

Most people were farmers living in manors, which were property of the lords.

They were not slaves, and they had higher levels of freedom. Some of them moved out to other places like cities or merchant towns.

Athenian Democracy

Athenian Democracy was a form of direct democracy. A few male individuals met at the Agora (a central place in the city) to discuss public matters. They were property owning males.

A large section of the population were slaves, who did not have any political or civil rights: they could be sold and bought.
