The Industrial Revolution was a period of time when Western Europe and the United States began to transition to using machines instead of manual labor. Lots of new inventions were thought of during this time period.

The automobile changed many things in the 1920's. It had drastically changed the live of Americans.  These changes included....

1. Construction of roads to be suitable for driving in all types of weather

          > Route 66 made accommodations for people traveling from Chicago to California

2. Houses began to come with garages and driveways  

          > Meant less lawn

3. Construction of gas stations

4. Public garages and traffic lights were built  

5. The automobile liberated rural families  

           > Could now travel to the city

6. People could live on the outskirts of town

           > Able to work in the city by commuting  

7. New jobs due to the impact of the automobile (Gave more employment)  

          >  Fast food, city/highway construction, state police, convenience stores, gas stations, auto repair shops
