When two solutions are separated by the membrane through which water can pass but starch cannot, the osmosis will occur.

Osmosis is described as the spontaneous movement of water through membrane from a region of lower solute concentration into a region of higher solute concentration. Water movement tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides.

Answer:

Water will move from its region of high concentration towards the starch

Explanation:

As given in the problem statement , water can pass through the membrane but starch cannot pass through it. Thus, water will start permeating through the permeable membrane governed by the concept of osmosis where fluid at higher concentration starts moving towards the low concentration chamber.

Thus, water being at higher concentration on one side starts moving from its side to the side of starch and hence the starch solution level will rise while the level of water will lower down.

How does ATP release energy that's stored within the molecule?
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

Option (D).

Explanation:

ATP (adenotriphosphate) molecules are considered as energy currency of the cells as molecules provide energy for various cellular functions.

The energy is stored in ATPs in two high-energy phosphate bonds, known as phosphoanhydride bonds. This stored energy is released in during hydrolysis of ATP, which involves removal of terminal phosphate groups bound the carbon backbone.

Thus, the correct answer is option (D).

Verdich [7]

Answer: The carbon dioxide is the output and oxygen is the input of the Scuba apparatus.

Explanation:

The scuba apparatus is a life saving apparatus used by the sea divers. It recycles the exhaled gas and removes the carbon dioxide and compensates for the utilized oxygen gas before the diver is actually supplied with the gas for the purpose of breathing in a circuit. Hence, the carbon dioxide gas is the output and the oxygen is the input.
