The owners of a large tropical resort are considering a plan to destroy a large coral reef just offshore. They reason that, if the reef is gone, cruise ships will be able to dock closer to their resort and they will gain business. Write a letter to the resort’s owners explaining how they might benefit more by preserving the reef instead.

as a resort owner, u should know dat cruise ships will not bring good business to u: they stay on ships n when they get on shore, the curise line wants 'em to sign up its own shore excursions. ur resort may get meal business but thats not much.

if u keep the reef, u can advertise how large n nice the reef is n how close the reef is to ur resort. it can become an ecological attraction. ppl will come 2 see the coral reef. ur resort will be full. u can set up boat tours 2 da reef or even diving classes 4 tourists. those will bring much better business 2 ur resort than cruise ships.

The resort owners need to know that Coral reefs are important to the ocean because coral reefs provide a buffer, protecting our coasts from waves, storms, and floods. Corals form barriers to protect the shoreline from waves and storms. The coral reef structure buffers shorelines against waves, storms, and floods, helping to prevent loss of life, property damage, and erosion.

Identify the position on the graph that gives the carrying capacity of the population.
dolphi86 [110]

The carrying capacity of any individual biological species is the maximum size of the population which can sustain indefinitely in that environment provided the necessary requirements like food, water and other environmental conditions are available.

The carrying capacity in the graph is the point on the graph where the line of population is horizontal. The graph has the population in y-axis and time period on x-axis. Alternatively if in the carrying capacity graph the line becomes parallel to x axis then it gives the carrying capacity. Here, at the point 2000 on y-axis and starting from 15 months in x-axis is the point of carrying capacity is marked with red horizontal line and green border in the image attached.
