The x-intercepts are only points where the functions touchs the x-axis, this is the y-coordinate of the function is 0.
As long as the domain contains this point, there are infinite function with the same domain and range that satisfy the condition that the x-intercepts are equal.
Examples:
y = x + 5
y = 2x + 10
y = 3x + 15
For those three functions, when x = -5, y =0. Those the x-intercept is (-5,0).
