If it was just x it would mean that they would be an invisible 1 in front of the x. if it's (x-1) it would be another number that it be subtracted from the x

The circle below has center k , and its radius is 3 cm Given that m∠LKM =70° , find the length of the major arcLNM
Veseljchak [2.6K]

The length of the major arc LNM is \frac{29}{6}\pi \ cm

<h3><u>Length of an arc</u></h3>

From the question,

We are to determine the value of the length of the major arc LNM

The length of the major arc LNM can be calculated using the formula

Length \ of \ major\ arc \ LNM = \frac{Reflex \

Where r is the radius

First, we will determine the value of the reflex ∠LKM

Reflex ∠LKM + ∠LKM = 360° (<em>Sum of angles at a point</em>)

From the given information,

∠LKM = 70°

Then,

Reflex ∠LKM + 70° = 360°

Reflex ∠LKM = 360° - 70°

Reflex ∠LKM = 290°

Also, from the question

r = 3 cm

Now, putting the parameters into the formula, we get

Length \ of \ major\ arc \ LNM = \frac{290 ^\circ }{360 ^\circ} \times 2\pi \times 3

Then,

Length \ of \ major\ arc \ LNM = \frac{1740\pi}{360}

Length \ of \ major\ arc \ LNM = \frac{29}{6} \pi \ cm

Hence, the length of the major arc LNM is \frac{29}{6}\pi \ cm

Find the area of the shaded triangle below.
ki77a [65]

Answer:

A = 12 square units

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a Triangle = base * height / 2

The triangle might look weird and doesn't look like it has a base, but if you look at the left side you see there is a straight line which means there is a base, so we flip the picture until we see that the flat line on the bottom or the base.

The base is 4 units.

To find the height, we don't need a straight line, we just need to see how the tall the triangle is, to do that you must start from the lowest point and count up to the highest point.

You now get 6 units.

A = bh/2

A = 4*6/2

A = 24/2

A = 12 square units
