Comparative investigation involves the collection of data from different "subjects" (including organisms, object or characteristics) or obtaining data under different conditions (such as seasons, years or locations) for the purpose of comparison. This type of investigation is both time and capital intensive; meaning it requires a lot of time and money. <u>It however provides a larger and wider range of data that might not be available through other "independent investigations" because a large amount of subjects is usually studied for proper and accurate comparisons</u>.
