An industrial system has two industries with the following input requirements. (a) To produce $1.00 worth of output, Industry A

requires $0.20 of its own product and $0.50 of Industry B's product. (b) To produce $1.00 worth of output, Industry B requires $0.40 of its own product and $0.30 of Industry A's product. Find D, the input-output matrix for this system. A B D = A B Solve for the output matrix X in the equation X = DX + E, where E is the external demand matrix E = 10,000 20,000 . Answer:

X = 1/11 * [ 250000; 575000]

Explanation:

To find D we need to build the equation first by working out the equation further we will get the value of x then we can easily work out the equation of matrix X

X = DX + E

Let the matrix X be x,y

The equation will be

x - (0.10x + 0.20y) = 10000

y -(0.50x+0.40y) = 20000

0.9x - 0.2y = 10000

-0.5x+0.6y = 20000

The value of x is equal to 250000/11 and y is equal to 575000/11

Hence the matrix X will be

X = 1/11 * [ 250000; 575000]

mihalych1998 [28]

Due to changes in production, Hanson steel gave each employee 75 percent of the cost savings. Hanson steel uses a gainsharing compensation plan.

A compensation plan refers to the practices, methods, and intentional approach that's used by an organization in maintaining financial interests and developing, retaining, attracting, and rewarding employees in an industry.

It should be noted that the gainsharing compensation plan refers to a compensation plan that is used to increase profitability as employees share in the company's gain. Since the workers share 75% of the cost savings, this is a gain-sharing compensation plan.

With the CEO and driver of the company—Howard Schultz—stepping down as the company’s unquestioned leader, do you expect Starbuck
Komok [63]

Answer:

The short answer to that is No, Starbucks will not change its foreign market entry strategy.

Explanation:

The reasons are as follows:

 1. did Howard Schultz lose his shares when he stepped down? This is highly unlikely and according to the rules of corporate governance may depend on his contract. So stepping down as the chairman does not necessarily translate to losing control.
 2. Corporations such as Starbucks: don't just up and change direction. Strategies are usually vetted by the board of directors. Whoever the majority shareholder is (corporate person or individual) will always have a say regarding the expansion of the business.
 3. Howard Schultz has stepped down in 2018. At that time, Starbucks had a total of 28,000 stores in 77 countries. Currently, there are 15,000 in 50 countries. This reduction didn't happen because Howard stepped down but because of the recent pandemic which hit the globe in 2020.

A company uses the percent of sales method to determine its bad debts expense. At the end of the current year, the company's una
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer: $5,440

Explanation:

When using the percent of sales method to determine bad debts, the company estimates a percentage that it believes will results in uncollectible debt and then applies it to the sales/revenue figure. The figure that is calculated is then debited along with the debit balance on the Allowance for doubtful accounts to the Bad debts account for the year and credited to the Allowance for doubtful accounts.

This company estimates that they will have 0.6% of credit sales uncollectible.

There are also $790,000 in sales of which all are on credit.

The Uncollectible estimate is therefore,

= 790,000 * 0.6%

= $4,740

This figure is then added to the debit amount on the Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts.

= 4,470 + 700

= $5,440

Note; A debit balance on the Allowance for doubtful debt account signifies that the bad debts were higher than anticipated the last time. This is why the figure is added to the current bad debts expense.
