Why does Paine think that now is the time to break away from Britain

Thomas Paine believe that colonies should become independent states and break all political ties with the British monarchy because he believed that it was contrary to common sense for a large continent to be ruled by a distant land. This and because for people of this distant land to pledge their absolute allegiance to a king whose government was corrupt and whose laws were unreasonable was flat out wrong to him

What is the profession of putting the policies of the government into practical application?
tatiyna
Making policy has traditionally been seen as Whitehall’s main function. Yet, despite over a decade of sustained efforts to improve policy making, civil servants, politicians and academics continue to express concerns about the way policy is made, and whether it is ready to meet future challenges. These concerns need to be taken seriously. The strength of policy making is integral to the strength of government as a whole, and that of the country at large. When policies fail, the costs (whether monetary or otherwise) can be significant. There would be a compelling case for studying policy making even if Whitehall could look forward to a period of stability. Clearly, this is not the case. Departmental administration budgets are being cut by an average of 33% over four years, and the Prime Minister has promised “a total change in the way our country is run”. 1 The Institute’s approach In the face of these challenges, policy making will need to change – both in its function and its organisation. The Institute’s Better Policy Making theme aims to show how this can be done.

spin [16.1K]

Answer:

a. be prepared and develop an understanding of other cultures, even other languages b. reinforce stereotypes c. adjust your communication d. recognize differences

The answer is b. reinforce stereotypes

Explanation:

Ethical and intercultural communication thrive when there are no form of discrimination. A stereotype being a fixed belief about an area, community or people which could be right or wrong would discourage development of ethical and intercultural communication. Reinforcing stereotypes would however worsen the situation.

Being prepared and develop an understanding of other cultures and even other languages, adjusting to your communication and recognizing differences would help to develop ethical and intercultural communication.
