In the results we can see the transverse wave alone has more energy as compared to the combined wave.

Explanation:

The wavelength wave speed and wave power of the combined wave is less than that of alone transverse wave with the same setting. Longitudinal wave is a wave whose waves travel along the line of propagation. It is different from the transverse wave. The transverse wave is the wave whose waves travel in perpendicular direction with the line of propagation.

Sound wave is a very common example of transverse wave. The transfers wave requires a medium to propagate from one to another place. this is the reason we cannot hear any sound in the space as there is no medium to carry the wave from one to another place.

Gametes are _______ so that when fertilization occurs, the resulting zygote will have the characteristic number of chromosomes f
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

Haploid

Explanation:

Gametes are mainly produced by the process of meiosis in the gamete mother cells. Meiosis reduces the chromosome number to the half in the gametes and produces haploid gametes. Haploid cells are the ones that have only one complete set of chromosomes. The fusion of haploid male gamete with a haploid female gamete restores the diploid chromosome number in the zygote.

For example, each of the human sperms and egg cells has 23 chromosomes. Somatic cells in humans have 46 chromosomes. The fusion of a sperm carrying 23 chromosomes with an egg having 23 chromosomes restores the 46 chromosomes in the zygote.

If someone who is homozygous for an autosomal recessive disorder mates with a person who does
slamgirl [31]

They have a zero percent chance of developing the disease

All the offspring will be carriers of the mutated gene but none of them will show any phenotype associated with the recessive allele. This is because they all will have the dominant allele that will mask the effects of the recessive allele of the gene.

Explanation:

Autosomal means that the allele is not on the X or Y sex chromosomes hence it is not a sex-linked gene. Male and female offspring have equal chances of acquiring the allele of the genes.

Let us assume that the dominant allele is coded by B while that of the recessive is coded by b. The attached Punnet square will show the Mendelian inheritance based on the information from the question.

Therefore, all the offspring will be carriers of the mutated gene but none of them will show any characteristics of the disorder (phenotype) associated with the recessive allele. This is because they will all have the dominant allele that will mask the effects of the recessive allele of the gene.

Suppose that Louisa is cut by broken glass during a lab accident. Which is the proper place to dispose of the paper towels that
n200080 [17]

Answer:

hazardous waste container

Explanation:

In a lab, hazardous waste container contains all the waste which can be dangerous or infectious. Hence, it should be properly handled and disposed of. Due to the cut in the lab, the blood of Lousia might contain infectious microorganisms. Hence, after cleaning the blood with paper towels, the paper towels should be discarded in the hazardous waste container as the paper towel might contain hazardous microorganisms.
