Nixon term to describe the majority of Americans who supported his policies.
The "silent majority" was the group of Americans who Nixon believed supported him by not participating in the protests.
The counter-culture were the members of society who so disagreed with Nixon and government policies that they created communes and protested the war.
Germany I hate word limit but the answer is Germany
England is the US's mother country. They were the ones that started colonies and ruled over the US.
Late.
The US joined the first world war in April, 1917. Why? Because President Wilson could no longer ignore the scale of the fighting. Germany started attacking every ship to approach Britain, which of course included US ships.
I can't think of any real significance. Perhaps knowing the US had joined the war frightened the Germans and their allies into running away?
