Read the passage from Immigrant Kids by Russell Freedman. Those who could not pass all the exams would be detained; some would b

e sent back to Europe. And so their arrival in America was filled with great anxiety. . . . The writer Angelo Pellegrini has recalled his own family’s detention at Ellis Island: We lived there for three days – Mother and we five children, the youngest of whom was three years old. Because of the rigorous physical examination that we had to submit to, particularly of the eyes, there was this terrible anxiety that one of us might be rejected. And if one of us was, what would the rest of the family do? My sister was indeed momentarily rejected; she had been so ill and had cried so much that her eyes were absolutely bloodshot, and Mother was told, “Well, we can’t let her in.” But fortunately, Mother was an indomitable spirit and finally made them understand that if her child had a few hours’ rest and a little bit to eat she would be all right. In the end we did get through. According the passage, immigrants often arrived at Ellis Island filled with fear. How does the quotation from Angelo Pellegrini develop this topic? It provides a firsthand account from an immigrant who had “a few hours’ rest and a little bit to eat.” It provides a firsthand account from an immigrant who eventually “did get through.” It provides a firsthand account from an immigrant who went through the “rigorous physical examination.” It provides a firsthand account from an immigrant who felt “terrible anxiety that one of us might be rejected.”

Compare the relation between environment
and development *
.
notsponge [240]

Answer: The relationship between the environment and economic development may be accessed from two different points of view. One point of view is that factors like political climate, governmental policies and culture in the environment affects economic development. A second viewpoint is the manner in which the activities associated with economic development affect the environment.Environment and economic development are linked in the sense that the factors in place in the environment have a huge impact on the rate of economic development for a region. A country with a politically unstable reputation will not be able to attract necessary investors and businesses from interested investors both within and outside the country. A local investor with the resources to establish a business may prefer to take his or her money elsewhere, to a country with a reasonably stable government. This lack of investment by entrepreneurs is due to the fact that there is no guarantee of any security for their investments. Lack of security also means that the business will not flourish in the way it would in a country with a stable government.

In “The Lady of Shalott” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, what is suggested about her love when the Lady dies before meeting Sir Lancel
kodGreya [7K]
I guess that what is suggested about Lady of Shalott's love towards Sir Lancelot is that her love is impossible. She was cursed not to look at the city below her, yet she did and fell in love with Sir Lancelot, although she knew she could never be with him because of the curse. Her love is thus impossible, and even before she got to meet the love of her life, she died because their romance was doomed to fail even before it began.

Give an Example about teel paragraph and include examples
irakobra [83]

Answer:

Start with a topic sentence (T). The T in TEEL stands for “Topic.” The topic sentence introduces the main idea of your paragraph or summarizes the argument you are trying to make. The topic sentence usually comes first in the paragraph.[1]

Keep your topic sentence clear and concise, so that the reader can tell exactly what the paragraph is about. For example, your topic sentence might be “A zebra is a type of mammal.”

You may have seen a variant on the TEEL structure called a PEEL paragraph. In a PEEL paragraph, the P stands for “Point,” i.e., the main point of the paragraph.[2]
