Julie gave away 15 pieces.

I found my answer by making an equation. For Julies half, we do 20-x because we don't know how many pieces she gave away but we do know how many pieces she started with. For Conrads half, we do 35-2x because we know he started out with 35 pieces and gave away two times how much Julie gave away so 2x. Then because we want them to have the same amount of gum left we set their two halves as equal to eachother.

So our equation is 20-x=35-2x. Then we solve:

20-x=35-2x (then we subtract 20 from both sides to move it right)

-x=15-2x (then we add 2x to both sides to move it left)

x=15 (and here is out answer)

In a dessert, the ratio of the number of ounces of dark chocolate used to the number of ounces of white chocolate used is 8 : 5
leva [86]

Answer:

1.6 ounces

Step-by-step explanation:

Divide the ratio by 5 to get the number of ounces of dark chocolate used for 1 ounce of white chocolate, since 5/5 = 1

8/5 = 1.6

5/5 = 1

The new ratio is 1.6 : 1

This means that 1.6 ounces of dark chocolate are used for every 1 ounce of white chocolate

Sladkaya [172]
If we have 156 beads and we can make one bracelet with 9 beads we divide 156 by 9 and get 17 1/3. since we cannot have 1/3 of a bracelet, we can make 17 bracelets.
