The equation for the pH of a substance is pH = –log[H+], where H+ is the concentration of hydrogen ions. A basic solution has a

pH of 11.2. An acidic solution has a pH of 2.4. Based from the given, what is the approximate difference in the concentration of hydrogen ions between the two solutions? A. 1.6*10^-9 B. 4.0*10^-3 C. 6.7*10^-1 D. 1.6*10^-11

For the basic solution:
11.2 = -log[H+]
[H+] = 6.31 x 10⁻¹²
For the acidic solution:
2.4 = -log[H+]
[H+] = 3.98 x 10⁻³
The difference:
3.98 x 10⁻³ - 6.31 x 10⁻¹²
≈ 4.0 x 10⁻³
The answer is B

Show the relationship of number of moles and volume in Avogadro's law using data. Write your calculations and answer on a separa
leonid [27]

Answer:

See below ~

Explanation:

The calculated values of V/n :

⇒ 1.5/0.3 = 5

⇒ 3/0.6 = 5

⇒ 4.5/0.9 = 5

⇒ 6/1.2 = 5

⇒ 7.5/1.5 = 5

1. From this we understand that the calculated values of V/n remain constant, equal to 5 in this case.

2. The volume-mole graph will be a straight line passing through the origin. (Attached below)

What is the fraction of the hydrogen atom's volume that is occupied by the nucleus? the bohr radius is 0.529×10−10m?
Arturiano [62]

Volume of a sphere = 4/3 x pi x r^3

When put a fraction of volume constant 4/3 x pi cancels out.

So only cube of radii remains.

Radius of proton = 10^-15 m (Fact; remember it)

Radius of total Hydrogen atom = 0.529 × 10^−10 m

Fraction of Volumes : R'^3/R^3 = (R/R)^3

Fraction = ((10^-15)/(0.529 × 10^−10m.))^3= (1/52900)^3 =

6.755 x 10^-15
