The vascular seedless plants are utilized as the medicinal plant and fertilizer.

Further Explanation:

The vascular plants are those plants that possess xylem and phloem for the transport of water and food respectively. Plants that have vascular system but are seedless are the members of Pteridophytes.

The characteristics of Pteridophytes:

1. They are seedless and vascular cryptogams: They reproduces through the production of spores.

2. They show alternation of generation as the sporophytic generation alternates with the gametophytic generation: Sporophyte possess true root, stem and leaves.

3. Spores are developed in the sporangia. Both type of spores are developed- homosporous and heterosporous.

4. Sex organs are multicellular and are jacketed.

Some of the example of Pteridophytes are:

1. Equisetum

2. Salvinia

3. Dicksonia

4. Selaginella

The importance of pteridophytes:

1. They are used as cattle feed

2. They are used for medicinal purpose. For example the foliage decoction of Lycopodium is utilized in homeopathy to treat certain disease such as constipation, eczema, diarrhea and inflammation of liver. Equisetumcontains various flavonoid and saponina that have diuretic effect.

3. Marsilea contains starch and are consumed by people as food in some areas.

4. Aquatic pteridophyte such as Azollaare used as a very good biofertiliser.

The effect of an antibiotic, antiseptic or disinfectant on bacteria growth is gauged by what measure? Group of answer choices
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

The correct answer id A. An area of no growth immediately around the application of substance called the "zone of inhibition" with the greater the zone size the greater the effect on the bacteria, ie the reduction or inhibition of growth.

Explanation:

When the effect of any antibiotic, antiseptic or disinfectant is to be checked then the substance is applied on some spots on agar plate and then spread plate culture technique is performed under aseptic technique.

Then after some hours of incubation area with bacterial growth and area without bacterial growth can be seen on the agar plate. The area where no bacterial growth occurs is called the zone of inhibition.

More the zone of inhibition produced by the substance more will be its effectiveness against the bacteria that means it can inhibit the growth of more bacteria. So, the right answer is A.

How the does the shape of an enzyme affect the reaction?
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

The shape of an enzyme determines which reaction it can catalyze.

Explanation:

Each enzyme is specific to one type of reaction. According to the structure of each enzyme, it has an active site capable of binding to a specific substrate, so the shape of the enzyme determines the type of reaction to be catalyzed.

Once the reaction occurs, the enzyme releases the product of the reaction and the enzyme is available for another reaction.

Regarding the other options:

 • The shape of an enzyme no depends on the reaction that it needs to catalyze.
 • Due to their specificity, enzymes can only catalyze one reaction at a time
 • The shape of the enzyme is not altered after the reaction.
