Answer: It was crucial.

Explanation:

In America, the lives of English pioneers based in the United States was not being successful. Everything changed in 1612, thanks to colonizer John Rolfe. He brought tobacco seedlings, which he began to cultivate in the newly established Virginia colony. In the same year, he married the Indian princess Pocahontas. With the help from her tribe and the weed sale, the colony became sustainable. The harvest of 1618 was of 9 tons. By the end of the century, it had risen to 17,000 tons. Tobacco was the main export product and raison d'être of the community, to the point of becoming currency.

How is the power of the judicial branch kept in check?
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

The authors of the Constitution wanted to be sure that

no person or group would seize power and control

the American government. To insure that this would

not happen, our United States government, under

the Constitution; was divided into three parts: the

executive, the legislative, and the judicial. Each of

these three branches has a check on the powers of

the others. These checks provide a system of balance

in our government, and that is why we call the system

checks and balances.

You may also hear this system referred to as a

separation of powers. Although not directly mentioned

in the. Constitution, the first three articles mark the

responsibilities of the executive, legislative; and

judicial branches. It gives some power to each branch

of government instead of giving all the power to one

branch.

These are the most important checks and balances:

1. Executive branch has the power to check the

legislative branch by vetoing laws that Congress

wants to pass

2. Legislative branch may check the executive branch

by passing laws over the veto by two-thirds vote in

each house.

Platt Amendment: Group of answer choices declared Cuba a colony of the United States. granted independence to Puerto Rico. recog
Reil [10]

Answer:

Platt Amendment:

authorized the United States to intervene militarily in Cuba.

Explanation:

The Platt Amendment was attached to the Army Appropriation Bill of 1901 specifically on March 2, 1901.  It was a treaty between Cuba and the U.S. which allowed the U.S. to intervene militarily to enforce the independence of Cuba.  It also forbade Cuba from transferring land to any other power, except to the U.S.  The treaty limited Cuba's right to enter into any treaty negotiations with foreign governments.  It also ceded the naval base, Guantánamo Bay, to the United States, which it continues to hold till date. The treaty remained in operation till 1934, but was not kindly accepted by Cubans, because they regarde it as too much interference.
