Yes, I do believe that these new inventions such as the smartphone and computers benefit us. Time consumption is a factor to consider but is optional. If you’re in a fast paced life, you wouldn’t want anything taking a lot of time since you’d believe that you have better, more important things to do (assumption). Another factor is quality, but it is optional. Do you want quality in your talk? Go in depth, etc? If so, then maybe a good-old call would benefit your lifestyle more. Whether or not these inventions benefit us depends on who it’s benefiting aka the lifestyles of the people using these inventions.
