How does paragraph 6 from “The Awakening” contribute to the overall structure and theme of the overall text?

English

“The Awakening” is a novel that centers around <em>Edna,</em> a woman who struggles between being a mother and her views on femininity. The 6th paragraph shows the society that the characters of the text are inserted in (1899 American South) and the rules of that society.

The character of Edna doesn’t have a fullfiled life just taking care of her children. <em>Her husband plays the part of the society’s opinion</em>, saying that men and women had <em>specific roles in the family</em>, the man was responsible to bring money home and <em>women were responsible to raise the children. </em>

The structure of this paragraph also shows subtlety the opinions of society and the roles she is not playing correctly, for example: <em>"He talked in a monotonous, insistent way.”</em>  This passage shows the way society has told her and everybody around her <em>what her place should be.</em>

PLEASE HELPP 20 points!!! Write an explanatory essay about what we can learn about ourselves through the eyes of others.
alexandr402 [8]

First off- Introduction. What are you going to be talking about in the essay? Yours will be about what we can learn by seeing ourselves through the eyes of others.

So ask friends, family, or classmates how they see you. Then, use that experience to write how it helped you.

Maybe you realized that you need to be a bit more open, and communicate better. Or maybe you realized you weren't that good of a friend. Or maybe you need to spend a little more time with mom. Write about those experiences, and how they helped you grow as a person.

(I'm not writing you the essay, but I hope this helped!)
