They give the poem more details and make it more coherent. Symbolism helps the reader connect to the poem more as well.

Make sure you include all of the different ones such a s period or a comma and think of why you think it’s important like, “because if we didn’t have punctuation the sentences wouldn’t make sense and be scrambled” or anything else you can think of.
