The Swiss Alps are a mountain range that formed during the Tertiary era after Pangea, the supercontinent, broke up. The African tectonic plate bumped into the European tectonic plate and this caused a bunch of rocks to be pushed up creating what we now call the Alps. The mountain range's tallest peak is Mt. Blanc which is 4,810 meters tall. The second tallest peak Monte Rosa, which is 4,634 meters tall.

How has the Columbian Exchange had an impact on our lives?
notka56 [123]
The Coloumbian exchange was the exchange of species between the Old and the New continents. Because of this we can for example choose between cofee and cacao to drink: Cofee is from the Old, and Cacao from the new World. Similarly, if you've even eaten food that included tomatoes (New world) and rice (Old World) - this is only possible with Columbian exchange.
