How will a seedling grow if it receives no light?
Rainbow [258]

Answer:

If we look at the matter from the gardener's point of view, however, we can use the rule of thumb that most cultivated plants on sale in seed form prefer to germinate in the dark. There are some notable exceptions however, some greenhouse perennials, epiphytes, many grasses, and even tobacco all prefer light and a large number of seeds are not fussy either way.

The reason is that commercially produced seed is bred and selected for its ease of germination as well as other more obvious characteristics and so peculiarities such as light or dark requirements do not often occur. On the other hand seed which is obtained non-commercially, in small quantities from the home gardener, seed lists, or the more unusual items from seed merchants may prove to be much more fussy in its requirements.

Two nuclei combine to form one nucleus in nuclear fission.
andre [41]
The answer is false.

The two main nuclear processes are nuclear fission and nuclear fusion.

In fission, a large nucleus is bombarded with a high energy neutron, resulting in the breakdown of the nucleus and the release of two smaller nuclei along with neutrons and high amounts of energy.

In nuclear fusion on the other hand, two smaller atomic nuclei possessing high amounts of energy to form a larger nucleus, with the possible release of neutrons. This process is also highly exothermic.

You study two regions of the moon. region 1 is densely cratered. region 2 is mostly smooth, with just a few craters. what can yo
BabaBlast [244]
I would conclude that Region 1 is an older portion of the surface than region 2.
The amount of clatering is usually an indication of the age of a geological surface; the more craters, the older the surface, because if the surface is young there hasn't been time for many craters to form. Therefore, Earth has a relatively young surface because it has few craters. This is because the Earth is geologically active, with plate tectonics and erosion having obliterated most craters from an earlier epoch. The surface of the moon on the other hand is much older with much more clatering. Additionally, different parts of the moon exhibit different amounts of clatering and thus are of different ages.
