Answer:

The amount of cost Cory should use to determine the gain on the condemnation is $581,000

Explanation:

Carrying amount                                                                                    $575,000

appraisal fees to support a $750,000 value $2,500

attorney fees for the closing with the state $3,500

Attorney fees to review contract to acquire replacement property $3,000

Title insurance on replacement property $4,000

The amount of cost Cory should use to determine the gain on the condemnation compared to $750,000 received from state = Carrying amount + appraisal fees to support a $750,000 value + attorney fees for the closing with the state

= $575,000  + $2,500  + $3,500  = $581,000

The Attorney fees to review contract to acquire replacement property and Title insurance on replacement property reduces the net proceeds from the state thereby decreasing the gain. The $3,000 and $4,000 amounts pertaining to the replacement property are not associated with the existing property and do not affect the gain on its condemnation.

Claude received notice that his disability benefits had ended and that he must resume working. Is Claude entitled to a hearing?
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

Claude is entitled to a hearing whenever any benefits are terminated and he requests one.

Explanation:

Benefits like we all know is the financial support offered to someone who is unable to carry out a specific function due to a given constraint. This constraints could be as a result of disability or an illness.

For Claude benefits to be cut off without actual investigation to evaluate if there is need for that was a wrong move. Claude is definitely entitled to a hearing regarding to that suspension of his benefits.

What is likely to happen to the labor market equilibrium for firemen as building codes change to require firewalls and sprinkler
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

The number of firemen employed will decrease while the wage of firemen will decrease

Explanation:

In an economy when there is an alternative or substitute that enters the market it results in reduction of demand for that product because some consumers will go for the other good.

In this scenario where building codes change to require firewalls and sprinklers to be included in all new construction, there will be a reduction in the demand for firemen. So number of firemen employed will be less.

This is because there is an alternative to using firemen now (firewalls and sprinklers).

Supply of firemen will remain the same, so more people are now competing for less jobs.

They will be more willing to take less wages than before so wages will reduce.

ABC Company bonds are trading on the open market. These bonds mature in 10 years. The coupon rate on the ABC bonds are at 8.50%.
stepladder [879]

Answer:

7.59%

Explanation:

Using a financial calculator, input the following to calculate Yield to Maturity (YTM). I'm using Texas Instruments BA II Plus model.

Face value of the bond ; FV = 1000

Annual coupon payment; PMT = Coupon rate * Face value ;

PMT= 8.5%*1000 = 85

Present value of bond or price; PV = -1062.50

Time to maturity in years ; N = 10

then compute annual interest rate ; CPT I/Y = 7.59%
