It allowed Columbus to become a thriving cotton-marketing center with unobstructed river travel to the Gulf of Mexico.

The Appalachian Trail passes the river's uppermost headwaters. From its source in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Chattahoochee River runs southwesterly to Atlanta and through its neighborhoods. It ultimately turns due-south to form the southern half of the Georgia/Alabama state line. The Chattahoochee River begins in the southeast corner of Union County, Georgia, in the southern Appalachian Mountains and flows southwesterly through the Atlanta metropolitan area before stopping in Lake Seminole, at the Georgia-Florida border. The river runs for a total interval of about 434 miles.

Freedom of speech is really important in keeping on the machinery of free market running in modern America. Just imagine a good restaurant not being able to tell about its good food and good prices to the people or imagine consumers not being able to talk about a new cellphone in the market.

Freedom of speech is essential to the pepole in modern America because the sense of freedom is to be able to tell others how we feel and not being condemned for doing so. Essentially if you feel happy or sad you can go to the park and shout a thing like: I feel good today or the contrary.

How did european colonization alter the peoples, cultures, and geographic landscape of North America?
pentagon [3]

Answer:

The European presence in America spurred countless changes in the environment, negatively affecting native animals as well as people. The popularity of beaver-trimmed hats in Europe, coupled with Native Americans’ desire for European weapons, led to the overhunting of beavers in the Northeast. Soon, beavers were extinct in New England, New York, and other areas. With their loss came the loss of beaver ponds, which had served as habitats for fish as well as water sources for deer, moose, and other animals. Furthermore, Europeans introduced pigs, which they allowed to forage in forests and other wildlands. Pigs consumed the foods on which deer and other indigenous species depended, resulting in scarcity of the game native peoples had traditionally hunted.

European ideas about owning land as private property clashed with indigenous people's understanding of land use. Native Americans did not believe in private ownership of land; instead, they viewed land as a resource to be held in common for the benefit of the group. Colonizers erected fields, fences, and other means of demarcating private property. Indigenous people who moved seasonally to take advantage of natural resources now found areas off-limits, claimed by colonizers.

Why did andrew jackson fight a battle after he war was over
adelina 88 [10]
<span>In September 1814, an impressive American naval victory on Lake Champlain forced invading British forces back into Canada and led to the conclusion of peace negotiations in Ghent, Belgium. Although the peace agreement was signed on December 24, word did not reach the British forces assailing the Gulf coast in time to halt a major attack. On January 8, 1815, the British marched against New Orleans, hoping that by capturing the city they could separate Louisiana from the rest of the United States. Pirate Jean Lafitte, however, had warned the Americans of the attack, and the arriving British found militiamen under General Andrew Jackson strongly entrenched at the Rodriquez Canal. In two separate assaults, the 7,500 British soldiers under Sir Edward Pakenham were unable to penetrate the U.S. defenses, and Jackson’s 4,500 troops, many of them expert marksmen from Kentucky and Tennessee, decimated the British lines. In half an hour, the British had retreated, General Pakenham was dead, and nearly 2,000 of his men were killed, wounded, or missing. U.S. forces suffered only eight killed and 13 wounded.Although the battle had no bearing on the outcome of the war, Jackson’s overwhelming victory elevated national pride, which had suffered a number of setbacks during the War of 1812. The Battle of New Orleans was also the last armed engagement between the United States and Britain.
