Answer: Option (A) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Arrhenius acids are the species which dissociate to give hydrogen ions, that is, H^{+}.

For example, CH_{3}COOH + H_{2}O \rightleftharpoons H_{3}O^{+} + CH_{3}COO^{-}

In the given example, HCN is donating the hydrogen ion therefore, it is an acid whereas HPO^{2-}_{4} is accepting the hydrogen ions so it acts as a base.

Whereas according to Arrhenius, bases are the species which dissociate to give hydroxide ions, that is, OH^{-}.

For example, NaOH + H_{2}O \rightarrow Na^{+} + OH^{-}

Thus, we can conclude that the statement only positive ion in solution is H^{+} best describes the solution produced when an Arrhenius acid is dissolved in water.

<span>The independent variable is the one that does not change depending on other variables - so here it would be the presence or the absence of caffeine - this is dependent on Tina's actions, but not on other variables in the experiment. The dependent variable is the heart rate - it is assumed to depend on the presence or absence of caffeine. A hypothesis could be that "Caffeine causes an increase of heart rate in earthworms" - and this hypothesis is what the experiment is testing.</span>

An object has a density of 2.9 grams/cm^3 and a mass of 45.6 grams. Calculate the objects volume.
ikadub [295]

Answer:

<h2>15.72 cm³</h2>

Explanation:

The volume of a substance when given the density and mass can be found by using the formula

volume =  \frac{mass}{density} \\

From the question we have

mass = 45.6 g

density = 2.9 g/cm³

volume =  \frac{45.6}{2.9}   \\ = 15.724137

We have the final answer as

<h3>15.72 cm³</h3>

Hope this helps you
