P = # of tickets that Poppy sold
f = # of tickets that Felix sold
a = # of tickets that Alexi sold

p + f + a = 700 (first part)
2f = p (second part)
p + 25 = a (third part)

(2f) + 25 = a (substitution)
(2f) + f + (2f + 25) = 700 (more substitution)
5f + 25 = 700
5f = 675
f = 135

2(135) = p (plug it in)
p = 270

270 + 25 = a (plug it in again)
a = 295

Felix: 135 tickets
Poppy: 270 tickets
Alexi: 295 tickets

Hope this helps. :)

What is the area of the circle below, in terms of ?90 metersO 457O 907O 1807O 81007134
defon

Step 1: Write out the formula

\begin{gathered} \text{Area of a circle = }\pi r^2 \\ \text{where } \\ r=\text{ the radius of the circle} \end{gathered}

Step 2: Write out the given values and substitute them into the formula

r=90m

Therefore,

\text{ the area of the circle = }\pi(90)^2=\pi\times8100=8100\pi m^2

Hence, the area in terms of pi is

8100\pi

Which point is on the line that passes through point Z and is perpendicular to line AB? (–4, 1) (1, –2 ) (2, 0) (4, 4)
AlladinOne [14]

For this case we have that if the line that passes through point z is perpendicular to line AB, it is fulfilled that:

m * m_ {AB} = - 1

We find the slope of AB:

m_ {AB} = \frac {y2-y1} {x2-x1}

We choose the points that go through AB:

(-2.4)

(0, -4)

m_ {AB} = \frac {-4-4} {0 - (- 2)}\\m_ {AB} = \frac {-8} {2}\\m_ {AB} = - 4

So:

m * -4 = -1\\m = \frac {1} {4}

On the other hand, the point z is (0,2).

Then the cut point with the "y" axis is 2.

The equation of the line is:

y = \frac {1} {4} x + 2

We test the points:

(-4,1)

1 = \frac {1} {4} (- 4) +2\\1 = -1 + 2\\1 = 1

Is fulfilled

(1, -2)

-2 = \frac {1} {4} (1) +2\\-2 = \frac {1} {4} +2

It is not true

(2,0)

0 = \frac {1} {4} (2) +2

It is not true

(4,4)

4 = \frac {1} {4} (4) +2\\4 = 1 + 2

It is not true
