Answer:

The Cohen's D is given by this formula:

D = \frac{\bar X_A -\bar X_B}{s_p}

Where s_p represent the deviation pooled and we know from the problem that:

s^2_p = 4 represent the pooled variance

So then the pooled deviation would be:

s_p = \sqrt{4}= 2

And the difference of the two samples is \bar X_a -\bar X_b = 1, and replacing we got:

D = \frac{1}{2}= 0.5

And since the value for D obtained is 0.5 we can consider this as a medium effect.

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Cohen’s D is a an statistical measure in order to analyze effect size for a given condition compared to other. For example can be used if we can check if one method A has a better effect than another method B in a specific situation.

Solution to the problem

The Cohen's D is given by this formula:

D = \frac{\bar X_A -\bar X_B}{s_p}

Where s_p represent the deviation pooled and we know from the problem that:

s^2_p = 4 represent the pooled variance

So then the pooled deviation would be:

s_p = \sqrt{4}= 2

And the difference of the two samples is \bar X_a -\bar X_b = 1, and replacing we got:

D = \frac{1}{2}= 0.5

And since the value for D obtained is 0.5 we can consider this as a medium effect.

Identify the zeros of the graphed function.
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

C) -4, -2, 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The zeros of a function are those values of x in which the function intersects with the x axis (that is, with y=f(x)=0).

In the shown graph, the values where the function takes values y=0 are x=-4, x=-2 and x=1.

What is the probability that 6 rolls of a fair die will show four exactly 5 times?
storchak [24]

Answer:

very less

Step-by-step explanation:

When rolling a fair 6 sided die 5 times there are 6^5 possible combinations.

Of those, there are 5 ways to roll exactly four sixes, and each of those ways have 5 possible results on the die which has not rolled a six, plus there is 1 way to roll five sixes. 5*5+1=26 combinations with at least four sixes.

Now, take the number of results which fit your conditions, divide by the number of possible results and you get your answer: 26/7776 which can be reduced to 13/3338, a bit less than 0.4%

The scores on a standardized test are normally distributed with a mean of 500 and a standard deviation of 60. Jake scored 520 on
natta225 [31]

Subtract the mean from Jake's score:

520 - 500 = 20

Divide by the standard deviation:

20/60 = 0.33

Jake scored 0.33 standard deviation above the mean.

From the Z-table, 0.33 = 0.6293 = 62.93% of students scored below Jake.

Round to 63%
