Scientist can either use experiments or models for example (most common ways):

Experiments - consist in recreating the scene or whatever wants to be tested, and see if they're predictions matched.

Models - if the predictions are related to an object for example, scientists can create a miniature, or depending on what needs to be tested, a non-complete object. Models though, can be used the same way as experiments.

Hope it helped,

Happy homework/ study/ exam!

Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

Option D

Explanation:

(the gene for the disease has incomplete penetrance. the gene for the disease has limited expressivity. the disease is polygenic) - all these are examples of non-mendelian inheritance which include incomplete penetrance, polygenic inheritance etc. These do not follow the mendelian pattern of inheritance.

(the gene for the disease is recessive.)- this shows the mendelian pattern of inheritance... Dominant and recessive characteristics are examples that show Mendelian inheritance.

Explain how Rutherford's students knew that
Thomson's model of the atom needed to
change.
musickatia [10]

Answer:

Thomson's plum pudding model of the atom had negatively-charged electrons embedded within a positively-charged "soup." Rutherford's gold foil experiment showed that the atom is mostly empty space with a tiny, dense, positively-charged nucleus. Based on these results, Rutherford proposed the nuclear model of the atom.

Alice has type A blood and her husband Mark has Type B blood
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

From this information, we know both parents are heterozygous. This means each parent has an O allele to produce a child with type O blood. A and B blood type alleles are dominant to the O allele which allows one to be heterozygous and express A and B blood type but still have an O allele. This makes that Alice's blood type would be AO. Additionally, the father genotype would have to be BO.
