Answer:

The net operating income should be $69,100 for 7,200 units.

Explanation:

Given,

Sales (6800) units - $306,000

Variable expense (6800)  - 149,600

Contribution - 156,400 (Sales - Variable cost )

Less - Fixed Expense $96,500

Net operating Income - $59,900

Since, the sales and the variable expense is given for 6800 units. For computing the net operating income for 7200 units, it is important to calculate per unit price of both.

Per unit sales = Sales ÷ Number of units

                      = $306,000 ÷ 6800 units

                      =  $45 per unit sale

Per unit variable expense = Variable expense ÷ Units

                                           = 149,600 ÷ 6800 units

                                           =  22 per unit expense.

Now, we can compute easily.

Sales = (7200 × $45) = $324,000

Less - Variable cost (7200 × $22) =  158,400

Contribution - $165,600

Less - Fixed expense - $ 96500

Net operating income - $69,100

The fixed expense would remain the same.

Thus, the net operating income should be $69,100 for 7,200 units.

Using ABC in a service company
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

Blanchette Plant Service

ABC Costing Technique:

1. Total cost of the Kerry job:

Plants =            $750

Direct labor =  1,300

Total cost = $2,050

2. Determination of operating income or loss (Kerry's job):

Service Revenue =   $3,540

less cost of service    2,050

Operating income = $1,490

3. With desired operating income of 30% of cost:

Operating income = $615 ($2,050 x 30%)

The company can charge the Kerry job $2,665 ($2,050 + 615) or ($2,050 x 1.3)

Explanation:

Operating income or loss is the difference between revenue and costs of providing the services or goods.  When the revenue exceeds the operating cost, the difference is an operating income.  When the revenue is exceeded by the operating cost, the difference is an operating loss.  While the former means that the organization has added value to its resources, the latter implies that the organization has lost some value to its resources, thereby reducing the equity of the owners in the business entity.

The value of the goods and services Australia purchases from the U.S. are less than the value of goods and services the U.S. pur
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:

Option (d) is correct.

Explanation:

The information given in the question clearly shows that the value of goods and services U.S imported from Australia is greater than the value of goods and services Australia imported from the U.S. This exchange of goods and services between these two nations also shows that exports of Australia towards U.S. are greater than the exports of U.S. towards the Australia.

Balance of trade or Trade Balance or Net exports:

= Exports - Imports

Since Australia's Exports are greater than its imports, so Australia has a positive net exports and a trade surplus and U.S's Exports are less than its imports, so U.S has a negative net exports and a trade deficit with Australia.
