Prefix - in

The prefix /in/ means not. This prefix is often used to create the negative of the root word. Other words that use /in/ to create a negative are indecision and inedible.

Suffix - ous

The suffix /ous/ is used to create adjectives. It also means in possession of or full of. Incredulous means not full of belief.

Root - cred

This root word is cred meaning belief or believable. If something is credible, it is believable. Something that is incredible is not believable or hard to believe. Incredulous means not full of belief.
