Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

You and your friends = 4

Appetizers = 8*3 $ (3 appetizers)

Deserts = 4*2 $ (2 deserts)

Bill = 8*3 + 4*2

= 24 + 8

= 32 $

Each pays equally

= 32 / 4. ( 4 people are there)

= 8

So, you and your friends need to pay 8$ each to pay bill

Answer:

Each person pays $8

Step-by-step explanation:

The entire sum must be divided by 4.

"three appetizers that cost $8 each": 3 * 8

"two desserts that cost $4 each": 2 * 4

The total cost is 3 * 8 + 2 * 4

Now you must divide the entire sum by 4, so if you write it in a single line, you must use parentheses.

(3 * 8 + 2 * 4)/4 =

= (24 + 8)/4

= 32/4

= 8

Using fractions, it looks like this:

\dfrac{3 \times 8 + 2 \times 4}{4} =

= \dfrac{24 + 8}{4}

= \dfrac{32}{4}

= 8

The important lesson from this is that a fraction line is a division but it also means that the numerator must be calculated first, then the denominator must be calculated too, then you divide. When you do not write it as a fraction, but instead, you write in a single line, you must use parentheses where appropriate.

What is the distance between 5,4 and -1,1
spayn [35]

Answer:

3\sqrt{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate the distance d using the distance formula

d = \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2+(y_{2}-y_{1})^2    }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (5, 4) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 1, 1)

d = \sqrt{(-1-5)^2+(1-4)^2}

   = \sqrt{(-6)^2+(-3)^2}

   = \sqrt{36+9}

   = \sqrt{45}

   = 3\sqrt{5} ← exact value

   ≈ 6.71 ( to 2 dec. places )

How many leaves on a tree diagram are needed to represent all possible combinations tossing a coin and rolling a dice
dolphi86 [110]
The total number of outcomes of rolling a die      = 6
The total number of outcomes of  tossing a coin = 2

The total number of possible outcomes of executing both experiments is 6*2=12, which is also the number of leaves (end of the branch of a tree) on a tree diagram.
