Answer: Since 9/11 the US has been active in wars but is only technically called “in conflict”. 9/11 was only the second act of war on american soil within the century following pearl harbor in 1941. This was also one of the first acts of terrorism using our own property, the planes. The adults that saw this in person or on the news no longer felt safe as we hadn’t had any breaches of security on our own soil and this was an act to instill fear and to start a war. Security at airports have been extremely raised since then and more background checks on visitors from other countrues
