the answer would be A. Take .20 multiply it by 6 because there are 6 pints with that concentration, and take .10 and multiply it by 4. Add the two together. Take the number that you had just got and divide it by because if you take the amount of pints in total (10). You end up with 1.6 and you divide it by 10 because of the pints to get .16 or 16%

6 pints of a 20 percent solution of alcohol in water are mixed with 4 pints of a 10 percent alcohol in water solution. The percentage alcohol in the new solution is a. 16%

<h3>Explanation: </h3>

Alcohol is a depressant drug found in all alcoholic drinks such as wine, beer and spirits and is usually produced by fermentation. The reactions of alcohol in the body depends on the content consumed and how quickly it consumed.

6 pints of a 20 percent solution of alcohol in water are mixed with 4 pints of a 10 percent alcohol in water solution. The percentage alcohol in the new solution is:

The substance concentration can be expressed in quantities such as moles, percent (%) weight / volume), molarity, molality, parts per million (ppm) or mole fraction. Concentration is the amount of solute in a unit of the amount of solvent

Total Volume

6 + 4 = 10 pints

The volume of alcohol in final solution:

20% * 6 = 1.2 pints

10% * 4 = 0.4 pints

Total pints =  1.2 pints + 0.4 pints = 1.6 pints of alcohol in 10

Percentage = (1.6/10) * 100 = 16%

Therefore the answer is a. 16%

A researcher is interested in finding a 95% confidence interval for the mean number minutes students are concentrating on their
Sever21 [200]

Answer:

A. Normal

B. Between 40.08 minutes and 43.92 minutes.

C. About 95 percent of these confidence intervals will contain the true population mean number of minutes of concentration and about 5 percent will not contain the true population mean number of minutes of concentration.

Step-by-step explanation:

Central Limit Theorem

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a normally distributed random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the sampling distribution of the sample means with size n can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

For a skewed variable, the Central Limit Theorem can also be applied, as long as n is at least 30.

For a proportion p in a sample of size n, the sampling distribution of the sample proportion will be approximately normal with mean \mu = p and standard deviation s = \sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}}

x% confidence interval:

A confidence interval is built from a sample, has bounds a and b, and has a confidence level of x%. It means that we are x% confident that the population mean is between a and b.

Question A:

By the Central Limit Theorem, a normal distribution.

Question B:

We have that to find our \alpha level, that is the subtraction of 1 by the confidence interval divided by 2. So:

\alpha = \frac{1 - 0.95}{2} = 0.025

Now, we have to find z in the Ztable as such z has a pvalue of 1 - \alpha.

That is z with a pvalue of 1 - 0.025 = 0.975, so Z = 1.96.

Now, find the margin of error M as such

M = z\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In which \sigma is the standard deviation of the population and n is the size of the sample.

M = 1.96\frac{12}{\sqrt{150}} = 1.92

The lower end of the interval is the sample mean subtracted by M. So it is 42 - 1.92 = 40.08 minutes

The upper end of the interval is the sample mean added to M. So it is 42 + 1.92 = 43.92 minutes

Between 40.08 minutes and 43.92 minutes.

Question C:

x% confidence interval -> x% will contain the true population mean, (100-x)% wont.

So, 95% confidence interval:

About 95 percent of these confidence intervals will contain the true population mean number of minutes of concentration and about 5 percent will not contain the true population mean number of minutes of concentration.

The inequality h &gt; 48 represents the minimum
inessss [21]

Answer:

Option C. Anna and Sara

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The complete question in the attached figure</em></u>

Let

h ----> the minimum  height h in inches necessary to ride a certain roller  coaster

we  have

h\geq 48

The solution for this inequality is the interval [48,∞)

so

The value of h must be greater than or equal to 48 inches

<u><em>Verify who can ride the roller coaster</em></u>

1) Miguel 42 in

substitute the value of h in the inequality

42\geq 48 ----> is not true

therefore

Miguel can't ride the roller coaster

2) Patrick 45 in

substitute the value of h in the inequality

45\geq 48 ----> is not true

therefore

Patrick can't ride the roller coaster

3) Anna 48 in

substitute the value of h in the inequality

48\geq 48 ----> is true

therefore

Anna can ride the roller coaster

4) Sara 52 in

substitute the value of h in the inequality

52\geq 48 ----> is true

therefore

Sara can ride the roller coaster
