Deck=456
Area of pool= length times width=20 times 50=1000

The Area of the deck is made up of 4 rectangles and 4 squares, the rectangles Areas comes in pair.

Areas are
Area of deck =2(20w)+4(w^2)+2(50w)d
456=2(20w)+4(w^2)+2(50w)
Distribute
456=40w+4w^2+100w
Add Like Terms
456=4w^2+140w
Divide Everybody By 4
114=w^2+35w
Subtract 114 From Both Sides
0=w^2+35w-114

Find What Two Numbers Multiply To Get 114 AND ADD TO GET  35 and FACTOR -3 and 38

0=(w-3)(w+38)
Set Each To Zero
w-3=0
w=3

w+38=0
w=-38
False since measures in real life cannot be negative therefore width of walkway =3ft
Hope I helped

In using the multiple regression method, we can model the effects of the different levels of a qualitative independent variable
attashe74 [19]

For the levels of qualitative, the variable called dummy variables is used in the multiple regression method.

According to the statement

we have given that the by which method we use the different levels of a qualitative independent variable and we have to explain about it.

So, For his purpose, we know that the

A dummy variable is a variable that takes values of 0 and 1, where the values indicate the presence or absence of something.

And in the multiple regression method there are a lot of different variables which are used for a qualitative and for this a variable is used which is called the dummy variables.

By this variables we show the analysis between the given data. it gives the output in the 0 and 1 numbers.

So, For the levels of qualitative, the variable called dummy variables is used in the multiple regression method.

Figure A is a scale image of Figure B. What is the value of x?
kari74 [83]

Hey there! :)

Answer:

x = 21 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we know Figure A is just Figure B scaled, we can set up a proportion:

\frac{45}{35}= \frac{27}{x}

Cross multiply to solve for x:

45 · x = 35 · 27

45x = 945

Divide both sides by 45:

x = 21 units.
