    A rectangular prism has a length of 2 1/2 meters, a width of 4 meters, and a height of 2 1/4 meters.
aalyn [17]
First we need to convert our fractions into decimals, it's just a lot easier to work with.
2 1/2 is equal to 2.5
2 1/4 is equal to 2.25
Then we plug our numbers into the formula used to find the volume of a rectangle:
V=L*W*H
Volume equals Length times Width times Height.
V=2.5*4*2.25
V=22.5
22.5 is already in decimal form, or if you'd rather have a mixed number, your answer is 22 \frac{1}{2}

I dont understand this at all. I really need help!
Westkost [7]

Hello!

\large\boxed{x^{4}}

Recall that:

\sqrt[z]{x^{y} } is equal to x^{\frac{y}{z} }.  Therefore:

\sqrt[3]{x^{2} } = x^{\frac{2}{3} }

There is also an exponent of '6' outside. According to exponential properties, when an exponent is within an exponent, you multiply them together. Therefore:

(x^{\frac{2}{3} })^{6}  = x^{\frac{2}{3}* 6 }  = x^{\frac{12}{3} } = x^{4}
