why is tetracycline selectively toxic against bacteria Eukaryotic cells will enzymatically destroy the drug. Eukaryotic cells wi
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

The correct answer is The drug binds to the 30S small ribosomal subunit eukaryotes have 40S small sub unit.

Explanation:

Tetracycline belongs to broad spectrum antibiotic.Tetracycline is named so because it contain a derivative of four hydrocarbon rings.

Tetracycline act by inhibiting the protein synthesis process in prokatotes by binding to the small ribosomal subunit also called 30S subsunit and blocks the binding of amino acyl tRNA to the A site or attachment site of ribosome.

As eukaryotes contain 40S ribosomal subunit,it becomes difficult for tetracycline to bind with 40S ribosomal subunit of eukaryotes.

Compare the processes by which a car and a human use "fuel" to perform work. What are the similarities?
Alenkinab [10]

A car needs to be fueled before it can set in motion to posses a given amount of kinetic energy.

What is energy?

Energy is the capacity of doing work. In physics, there exist different types of energy; among which are follows:

 • Kinetic energy: Kinetic energy can simply be defined as that energy a body posses due to its motion
 • Potential energy: , On the other hand, potential energy is the energy a body has due to its relative position.

Other forms of energy include:

 • Solar energy
 • Nuclear energy
 • Mechanical energy

So therefore, a car needs to be fueled before it can set in motion to posses a given amount of kinetic energy.

Therefore, kinetic energy is the energy which allows a car to be fueled before it can set in motion .
