If we say Leo has x amount of money. Now we say that Dale has $3 more (x + 3) then twice the amount of money Dale has. Twice the amount of money Dale has is equal to 2x. And so by having three more dollars than this amount would be equal to 2x + 3 or in this case 2d + 3. It may be more helpful to read the question and attempt it on your own before reading the options bc they may confuse you.
