Aimed at socialists, pacifists and other anti-war activists, the Sedition Act imposed harsh penalties on anyone found guilty of making false statements that interfered with the prosecution of the war insulting or abusing the U.S. government, the flag, the Constitution or the military agitating against the production.
The main reason why some Americans (known as Anti-Federalists) opposed the ratification of the U.S. Constitution is because they felt that this would make the central government too powerful, and that it would become tyrannical over the individual states.
Initially, the Europeans thought the the plague, also referred to as Black Death, was a punishment from the Gods, and this was a belief that was started in the church circles, and they thought that God is punishing the people for their sins. This belief was quickly spread around, and people were indeed in big panic because it was a pandemic that was spreading around very quickly and was fatal.
The time between 1609 and 1610 was known as the "Starving Time" because the Colony of Virginia was currently facing the issue of starvation during that winter.
They didn't plan ahead for food for the winter and many people died because of it.
