I find it easiest to use slope-intercept form, or y=mx+b, to do this.

First, find the slope. 6/3 = 2/1 = 2. m = 2.

Next, find the y-intercept. In this case they gave it to you directly. b = -3.

So, the equation would be y = 2x - 3.

Mark borrowed $600 at an intrest rate of 8% per year for 4 years. How much simple intrest will he have to pay?
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

He will have to pay $192 in simple interest.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a simple interest problem.

The simple interest formula is given by:

E = P*I*t

In which E is the interest, P is the principal(the initial amount of money), I is the interest rate(yearly, as a decimal) and t is the time.

In this problem, we have that:

P = 600, r = 0.08, t = 4

So

E = P*I*t = 600*0.08*4 = 192

He will have to pay $192 in simple interest.

PLEASE HELP PICTURE IS SHOWN
Tomtit [17]
Looking at the attachment, we'll determine entire hexagon area with this formula:
area = apothem^2 *Number of sides * tan(180/n)
area = 17.32^2 * 6 * tan (30)
area =     299.9824    * 6 * 0.57735
area =  1,039.16903184
Now we subtract the triangle area (16*20 = 320)
shaded area =  1,039.16903184 -320 =     719.16903184
answer is D

PLEASE HELP!!
madreJ [45]
We need two definitions.
Two shapes are congruent if you can turn one into another using translation, rotation, and reflection.
Two shapes are similar if you rescale one them into a shape that is congruent to the other.
We can conclude from this that in euclidian geometry all circles are similar.
We can shrink the first circle to get the second one.
Scale factor would be 1/3 as circle 1 has the radius that is 3 times the radius of circle 2.

Answer:

2

Step-by-step explanation:

8 ^ (5/3) ^ 1/5

We know a^b^c = a^(b*c)

8^ (5/3*1/5)

8^ 1/3

Rewriting 8 as 2^3

2^3 ^1/3

2 ^(3*1/3)

2^1

2
