Kaifeng Montez  can buy:

8-slice Pepperoni pizza for $15.92

or

12-slice pizza for $22.32

One slice of Pepperoni pizza is $15.92 ÷ 8 = $1.99

One slice of the second brand pizza is $22.92 ÷ 12 = $1.86

So a piece of the second brand pizza is cheaper that a piece of Pepperoni pizza.

The second brand pizza (12-slice pizza) therefore is a better deal.

A school will offer pizza on Friday's if at least 30% of the students will buy it. A sample of 50 students asked if they would b
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

0.0614

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

- The school offers pizza on friday when at-least 30% students are willing to buy.

- The minimum required proportion of students, p = 30%

- A sample of n = 50 students were taken and out of the sample x = 10 people responded willing to buy pizza.

- We will denote a random variable X: the number of students willing to buy Pizza on fridays.

- For the sample of n = 50, for Pizza to be offered on friday the expected number of student who should opt for buying must be at-least:

           Expected ( Mean - u ) = n*p = 50*0.3 = 15 people.

- The standard deviation for the normal distribution can be determined as follows:

          standard deviation ( s ) = √n*p*(1-p)

                                                 = √50*0.3*(0.7)

                                                 = √10.5 = 3.2404

- We will assume that the random variable X follows normal distribution:

                       X ~ Norm ( 15 , 3.2404^2 )

- To determine the probability of sample of size n = 50 with proportion or lower. The number of people willing to buy pizza on friday as per survey are x = 10.

- Evaluate the standard normal ( Z-score ):

                      P ( X < x ) = P ( Z < ( x - u ) / s )

                      P ( X < 10 ) = P ( Z < ( 10 - 15 ) / 3.2404 )

                      P ( X < 10 ) = P ( Z < -1.54301 )

- Use the standard normal tables to determine the value of P ( Z < -1.54301 ):

                     P ( X < 10 ) = P ( Z < -1.54301 ) = 0.0614

Answer: The probability of getting a sample with the proportion or lower given a population with a proportion of .30 is 0.0614.

How do I simplify this 5a + 3b - 6a - b
BigorU [14]
Take the as together and take the bs together.

5a + 3b - 6a - b.
5a - 6a + 3b - b.  Then simplify.
-a + 2b.

That's it.

During a basketball game, chiyann made 15 baskets. She made three more baskets then twice number of baskets made by whitney. How
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

Whitney made 6 baskets

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of baskets made by Whitney be x.

The 15 baskets made by

Chiyann is equal to 2 times plus 3 what Whitney made

Mathematically what she made would be 2x + 3

To get x, we equate this equation to 15

2x + 3 = 15

2x = 12

x = 12/2

x = 6 baskets

Dee Wallace's salary was $61,000 in 2006 and increased to $64,300 in 2009.
velikii [3]

Answer:

$1,100

Step-by-step Explanation:

Dee Wallace's salary in 2006 = $61,000 Dee Wallace's salary in 2009 = $64,300

The salary increased in => 2009 - 2006 = 3yrs

The amount of salary increased = 64,300-61000 = $3,300

The annual change of salary = 3,300/3 = $1,100
